1: First of all, please give the readers a quick introduction to yourself for those who may not know who you are?
A: My name is Will Ferrara, and I wrestle for Ring Of Honor. I am often considered an underdog, but that only fuels me to work twice as hard.
2: Did you watch wrestling growing up at all, and if so when did you get into wrestling?
A: I got into wrestling as a young kid, under 10 years old for sure. Haven’t stopped since.
3: You were trained by Johnny Rodz and Taz. How did you then get involved in wrestling training with these two and what are your thoughts on your experience training with these two?
A: In 2006 I read an article in WWE Magazine interviewing Matt Striker, and through it I discovered a pro wrestling school in Brooklyn ran by Johnny Rodz. I am very grateful that Johnny gave me the opportunity to begin training at such a young age, (14) and his training instilled a great foundation. I found out about the Team Taz Finishing Camp via social media in 2011, and applied right away. Training with Taz was an amazing experience, and it really put the wrestling business into perspective and helped me realize just how hard I would have to work to be successful.
4: You previously wrestled as Spartan on the Independent Circuit, did the character differ to Will Ferrara and how did you get involved with Ring of Honor originally?
A: Spartan was a character I chose when I first started, and as I got older and matured both mentally and in wrestling I decided it wasn’t for me. I first attended a ROH Tryout Camp in August 2012 and again that December. I was amazed on how much I learned that I made sure to be around ROH as frequent as possible. My first ROH match was at the Manhattan Center in April 2013, and it’s been a crazy ride since.
5: You were part of the Top Prospect Tournament in Ring of Honor getting to the final but losing out to Donovan Dijak, what are your thoughts on losing the final and do you think that this gained you more exposure as a result in Ring of Honor?
A: Even though I came up short, I feel like that match against Dijack helped the both of us prove that ROH is where we belong. It was an honor for this match to be featured on the 200th ROH TV Episode Celebration.
6: You have had the chance to face off against the likes of KUSHIDA, Roderick Strong, The Briscoes and Moose, do you think that this is a testament to how good Ring of Honor is right now that you can work with these sorts of talents and who do you want to work with in 2015 on the ROH roster that you haven’t had the chance to yet?
A: I believe that the ROH locker room is filled with the best wrestlers in the world today, and it’s been an honor to work with many of them. As far as new ROH opponents, I’d love the chance to go up against Adam Cole & Matt Sydal.
7: Of course the blog is about British Wrestling, do you want to come over to the UK soon to work the Indy circuit and if so who would you have in mind to face/work for?
A: I would love the opportunity to come over and experience the UK wrestling scene. Companies that stand out to me are PCW & Progress, but I’m down for any challenge thrown my way.
8: What are your future ambitions in Wrestling and where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
A: It’s right around 1 year since I debuted on the ROH main roster, and I want to make each year better than the last. For wrestlers who want to be pushed to the absolute limit, and for wrestling fans who want to see consistent exciting matches, Ring Of Honor is the place. I don’t just want to be apart of it, I want to leave a strong legacy. As far as where I see myself in 5 years, I take it one day at a time. Work hard, and do the right thing, good things will happen.
9: Where can readers and promoters find Will Ferrara on Social Media and to book you??
A: I’m on Twitter @WillFerrara
Facebook.com/HYPEferrara or search Will Ferrara
10: Any future dates or projects you are currently involved in that you want to plug?
A: Very excited about the stars of NJPW coming back to ROH next week 8/21 & 8/22. Tickets and Video On Demand of the events can be found at rohwrestling.com
